New Chinese courses for Spain and Latin America

Mandarin Centers will launch during the month of March a complete training program covering HSK1, HSK2, and HSK3 levels that will be taught for the resident audience both in Latin America and Spain. This ambitious project is the result of collaboration with several leading universities which, after several months of design and planning, have incorporated the different HSK levels into their general educational offerings. However, these courses are open to everyone and students are not required to be enrolled in any of the participating centers. The participating universities are Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Chile, Universidad Sergio Arboleda in Colombia (for its Bogota, Barranquilla and Santa Marta campuses) and Fundación Universidad la Laguna in Tenerife, Spain. This cycle of training programs only reinforces Mandarin Centers Institute’s clear commitment to become the main reference in the teaching of Mandarin Chinese for the Spanish-speaking public.
HSK1, HSK2 and HSK3 Chile schedule (in collaboration with Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez) Starting on March 12 and ending on July 2, the Adolfo Ibáñez University offers three courses related to HSK1, 2 and 3 levels on Saturdays: HSK1 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. HSK2 13:00 to 15:30 hours HSK3 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. These programs related to each of the official Chinese HSK levels will be taught following the Encounters Program, based on a drama series with film quality filmed entirely in China.
The program adheres to the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) Proficiency Guidelines, has been developed in conjunction with Yale University and focuses on spoken language communication. It employs a task-based functional approach: – Presents authentic language and culture through dramatic and engaging video episodes. – Provides additional model dialogues that focus on spoken language and communication – Links cultural video interviews to language functions – Presents clearly focused grammar instruction and practice – Adheres to ACTFL proficiency guidelines – Offers an interactive website for guided and independent practice The Encounters digital platform, www.encounterschinese.com.cn, is the centerpiece of the program.
